DESCRIPTION

The Disable-NetAdapterRss cmdlet disables receive side scaling (RSS) on the network adapter. RSS is a scalability technology that distributes the receive network traf
fic among multiple processors by hashing the header of the incoming packet. Without RSS in Windows Server® 2008 and later, network traffic is processed on the first p
rocessor which can quickly reach full utilization limiting receive network throughput. Running this cmdlet can reduce the performance of servers running Windows Serve
r® 2012 and later. Various properties can be configured to optimize the performance of RSS.
